Jessica Scheidt, MS/CCC-SLP
Director of Sunshine Speech Therapy, PLLC
Jessica is an ASHA-certified Speech-Language Pathologist, the founder of Sunshine Speech Therapy.
After more than 25 years of working with children and families, Jessica saw firsthand how difficult it could be for families in rural communities to find quality pediatric services. What started as one therapist traveling from home to home quickly grew into a grassroots mission: to build a team of incredible professionals who shared the same passion for helping children thrive.
Today, that mission has grown into a team of dedicated speech-language pathologists, occupational therapists, and special education teachers. Jessica believes that the best outcomes happen when families are supported by therapists who genuinely love what they do and care deeply about the children they serve.
Jessica has a special passion for helping children find their voice. She is recognized by Apraxia Kids as a provider for children with childhood apraxia of speech and enjoys working with children who have complex communication needs. Whether she's in a therapy session, mentoring a new clinician, or collaborating with families, her focus is always on helping each child reach their fullest potential.
Building Sunshine has never just been about growing a business—it has always been about building a community. Jessica is incredibly proud of the team she has assembled and strives to create a workplace where clinicians feel valued, supported, and excited to come to work each day. Lindsay is an ASHA-certified speech-language pathologist. With a strong medical background and a passion for helping others, she brings energy, enthusiasm, and a highly engaging style to every session. Lindsay incorporates creativity and humor into her therapy, making sessions enjoyable while still maintaining a strong focus on meaningful progress. Her ability to connect with individuals through a warm, lighthearted approach helps build trust, increase participation, and foster confidence. Her dedication as a Speech-Language Pathologist shines through as she supports each individual’s communication journey.
Lindsay Weatherwax, MS/CCC-SLP
Andrea Monk, MS/CCC-SLP
Andrea brings brings both talent and enthusiasm to our Sunshine team. With hands-on experience in pediatric therapy, she combines her energy and dedication to support children in developing clear speech and strong language skills. Services focus on improving articulation (speech sound production) as well as enhancing expressive and receptive language, including sentence structure, vocabulary, and comprehension skills. She brings a warm, positive energy to every session, creating an environment where children feel comfortable, motivated, and excited to participate. Her calm and patient approach allows each child the time and support they need to learn at their own pace, even when tasks are challenging. She consistently meets children where they are, offering encouragement and gentle guidance to build confidence and foster steady progress.
Tiffney Malloy, Teacher of the Deaf
With more than 30 years of experience in education, Tiffney brings an incredible depth of knowledge, compassion, and dedication to every child and family she works with. Throughout her career, she has worked as a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing and as a Remediation Specialist, giving her a unique understanding of the many different ways children learn, communicate, and grow.
Tiffney truly believes that every child has their own strengths, needs, and way of learning. She loves getting to know each child, discovering what makes them shine, and finding creative ways to help them work through challenges and build confidence.
A huge part of Tiffney’s work has always been building strong connections between children, families, and schools. She understands the importance of teamwork and communication and works closely with everyone involved to help children access the support, strategies, and accommodations they need to be successful. Most importantly, Tiffney brings a patient, encouraging, and child-centered approach to everything she does. She celebrates progress, big and small, and is passionate about giving children the tools and confidence they need—not just for success in school, but for the many adventures ahead!
Necole Hubbard, OTR/L
With years of experience in pediatric occupational therapy, Necole brings a wealth of knowledge, creativity, and heart to everything she does. She has a natural ability to connect with children and make therapy feel fun, meaningful, and achievable. As an OT Supervisor, Necole is also passionate about supporting our therapists and helping them grow as clinicians. Her warm personality, clinical expertise, and genuine love for helping children make her such a valued part of the Sunshine team!
Rhiannon Nowakowski, OTA
Rhiannon is an Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) with a genuine passion for helping children build confidence, independence, and new skills. She brings both professional experience and personal insight to her work, having navigated the Early Intervention system with her own children. This experience gives her a unique understanding of the journey families go through and the importance of compassionate, family-centered support.
Rhiannon loves celebrating the little victories along the way and making therapy fun, encouraging, and meaningful for every child she works with!
Alyssa is Speech-Language Pathologist with experience supporting children in early intervention, preschool, and school-based settings. She is passionate about helping children find their voice and build meaningful communication skills that carry over into their everyday lives. Her clinical interests include autism, AAC (augmentative and alternative communication), gestalt language processing, and childhood apraxia of speech. She uses a child-led, play-based approach and is committed to providing neurodiversity-affirming therapy that honors each child’s unique strengths, communication style, and developmental path. She values strong collaboration with families and caregivers and strive to create therapy that is both engaging and practical. As a mom of four, she understands the importance of realistic strategies that can be carried over into daily routines.
Alyssa Cicero, MS/CCC-SLP
Joelle is one of those people who seems to do a little bit of everything—and somehow always keeps us moving forward! As our Billing Coordinator and Executive Assistant, Joelle is truly the behind-the-scenes magic that helps Sunshine Speech Therapy run smoothly.
Joelle brings both professional experience and personal heart to her work. As a mom who has personally navigated the Early Intervention and CPSE systems with her own child, she understands firsthand what families experience and how important it is to have someone in your corner. That personal experience gives her a special connection to the families and therapists we serve.
With a background in administration, finance, and human services, Joelle keeps track of the details, solves the problems, and helps keep all the moving pieces of our growing practice on track. But more than anything, she brings kindness, loyalty, humor, and a genuine love for our team and families to everything she does.

With decades of experience, Lisa is an incredible asset to our team. She brings both deep professional expertise and invaluable personal knowledge to her work with our youngest learners. Over the years, she has dedicated her career to supporting children with multiple disabilities. Today, she uses that lifetime of insight to guide families and help toddlers and preschoolers in the New York State Early Intervention Program thrive during their most crucial early stages of growth.
Jordan is a Clinical Fellow Speech-Language Pathologist and a graduate of D’Youville University.
Jordan has a special passion for working with our birth-to-three kiddos and brings a warm, playful approach to every session. She has a natural ability to connect with little ones and make therapy feel like just another fun part of their day!
Jordan loves helping babies and toddlers find their voices, build communication skills, and gain confidence as they interact with the world around them. We’re thrilled to have her joining our team and can’t wait to see all the little milestones she helps our families celebrate!

Kelly Washburn, Special Education Teacher (SEIT)
With more than 20 years of experience as a Special Education Teacher, Kelly brings an incredible combination of knowledge, compassion, and pure joy to every child and family she works with. Her bubbly, energetic personality is contagious, and she has a special gift for making children feel comfortable, connected, and excited to learn. Whether she’s singing, playing, laughing, or turning an everyday activity into a learning opportunity, Kelly brings so much fun and enthusiasm to her sessions!
Kelly especially loves working with our babies and toddlers through the New York Early Intervention Program, partnering with families to celebrate those little milestones that are actually really big victories. Her warmth, creativity, and genuine love for children make her such a special part of the Sunshine team!
